{Silver Creek Orchard}

The other day we ventured out to Silver Creek Orchard about 15 minutes north of us in Baltic.  It was nice outside, and Calvin had specifically requested a hayride that morning (he has a little book where the characters go on a hayride and has consequently been curious as to the nature of an actual hayride).

Unfortunately we did not get to do a hay ride as anticipated - but we did walk around the Pumpkin patch and see the small petting zoo!  This particular orchard is really just someone's farm and land they are willing to share with the community.  It was just us visiting and they had a sign on the door of the business that said, "We're up at the house - call and we'll come down right away."  It was a teeny little outing - but just the right pace for the boys!  Plus there was no crowds so it was nice to just walk around as a family.  I took the camera and tried to get some fun pictures of the kids soaking up the fall festivities!

Since it's fall and I really liked the visiting teaching message this month I'll wrap up this post with this cute little quote from the message -

{Grandma & Grandpa's Sioux Falls Trip}

Our fall festivities continue - this week was extra special because Grandpa & Grandma Perkins came to spend the holiday weekend with us (they had "indigenous people's" day off - eeesh)

Wesley enjoyed the extra attention - but Calvin absolutely felt like a king!  He was SO spoiled.  Grandma made banana bread and brought him his own special loaf (we are still relishing each slice together).

We celebrated Calvin's third birthday (again) with the Pinedos and the grands.  We had a Curious George theme - that seems to be the flavor of the month. Calvin really enjoys reading the books - it is something I can get behind!  Here are some of the party snapshots -

The picture of all these goofballs together encapsulates well the nature of Calvin's celebration

Calvin's good little buddies Max & Milo

I love this picture of Milo!  He is one handsome little guy!

This picture was taken seconds before Calvin shoved that entire cupcake in his mouth!

best buds <3

Grandma gets some loves in with the Cal - man.  We have enjoyed his month long style of celebrating turning three!  (When asked how old he is, his response is 'not 2!' haha!!)

We enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon at the Outdoor campus!  We walked around outside & then got delicious Honeybaked ham sandwiches for lunch.

Between shopping trips, delicious meals, movies & games with the kiddos we had a jam packed weekend.  Living far away from family really makes me cherish every moment I get to spend with them!  We concluded the weekend with a stop by Falls Park at sunset.

We love you Grandma & Grandpa!
