{5 months}

Five months, what!?!

Where has the time gone?

Calvin is a squirmy, active little dude on the brink of crawling (heaven help me).

He is still super into spit bubbles and thinks seeing himself in the mirror is the best part of the day.

He sleeps on his tummy and rolls over quite easily now.

He banshee screams when he needs your attention, but is typically pretty mellow.  Except when he's not.

Here is the little man - my whole heart and soul <3

{Christopherson Family Visit}

Valentines weekend was super awesome - packed in with a visit from the Christopherson family.

They got here Friday the 13th... That night we headed down to walk the strip.  We started in the Mandalay, and went to the New York New York (or as Quincy would call it, the Nork Nork).

Of course we had to make a stop at the M&M world!

We walked until our legs were sore and we had seen enough street bums to last a lifetime.  We called it a night so we could be refreshed for our fun day at...

CIRCUS CIRCUS!

Here is one of my fav pics of the boys on the 'El Loco' rollercoaster.

Calvin enjoyed being held by his aunt and seeing all the crazies that Vegas seems to attract.

His stroller was the only ride this baby boy got!  I am sure one day he will love those roller coasters too.

Quincy was super excited about his unicorn that he won in the claw machine!

On Valentines day we relaxed and Jana and the boys babysat Calvin so Mike and I could have an evening out.  We chose to go to a buffet called "Seasons" (they were having a Polynesian night and neither of us could resist).  It was a fun date night!

The next night we visited the strip some more and ate at a delicious Brazilian Steak House! (Thanks, Jana!)

Looking fancy in the Cosmopolitan

Calvin and Dad enjoying the sparkly lights.

We saw this awesome store where the wall was made with antique sewing machines. Sweet!

Collin in front of the lambo - wishing it was his.

No explanation necessary here.

It was such a fun trip and a blast to see these fun boys enjoying the strip!!

Happy Valentines Day! <3

{A Visit from Aunt Lisa}

So now when we get visitors, I refer to them as how they are related to Calvin rather than me, because I figure Cal is the man they really want to see! :D

Lisa came for a quick jaunt from Seattle this weekend and it was SO fun!!  We packed in a lot of activities into the few days she was down here and explored Vegas.

We went to the shops at the Mandalay Bay and found some fun stores.  One of my FAVORITE stores on the planet (called 'Lush') is there and it seriously made me so happy.  The sell all sorts of soaps and lotions and yummy smelling things... Lisa bought me a massage bar that I literally don't know words in english to describe how fabulous it is!

We also ate lunch at a fun Mexican cantina called Hussong's.  It was delicious, although I have to admit I felt slightly guilty eating at a Mexi place without Mike who LOVES mexican food.

Calvin did well in his pack!

Lots of loves and snuggles!

We took some awesome pics of Lisa and Cal in the backyard.  The weather was perfect

This one was so perfectly timed.

 On Saturday night we went to see the Lisa Lampanelli show and walked around the Venetian.  It was so much fun to explore the strip!

Viva Las Vegas!!

{4 months}

Better hurry and squeeze in this post before my boy turns 5 months!  Sometimes when I get him from his crib in the morning I swear he grew overnight...  it's incredible how quickly newborns change!

Right now Calvin is very expressive and sticks out his lower lip when something is bothering him.  He is such a boy and loves to blow spit bubbles constantly.  He has started to eat some solid foods - he doesn't have the patience for rice cereal but LOVES peas.

He seems very intuitive to my emotions.  If I am sad or something his behavior seems even more mellow than usual and he cuddles with me.  It is probably one of my favorite things ever.

He is typically a squirmy and active little dude and now he loves to flip himself on to his belly, then immediately regret his decision since he can't quite get back to where he was.  It is such a joy to watch him learn and grow!

{Aaron's Wedding}

The end of January brought a fun Utah getaway to celebrate one of my high school friend's wedding!

Let me start at the beginning... Mike volunteered to take off work on Friday and watch the babe so I could fly out Friday morning.  I arrived in Utah at the crack of dawn, so I had a lot of time to kill.

That morning I went to the Bountiful temple and did a session.  It's such a special temple to me since that's the one Mike & I were sealed in almost three years ago.  I will never forget President Callister telling us, "If you're not sealed in Bountiful, you're only sealed for half of eternity."

I love that place and it was a wonderful way to start out the day.

For Christmas Mike had given me a certificate to Massage Envy, and so after my temple session I went and treated myself to a relaxing massage!  I did feel a little guilty when I left the spa and had a text from Mike that read, "Calvin spit up practically the entire bottle I fed him and pooped all over the couch.  It smells like a truck stop."  BUT I admit I had to laugh.

Emilie & I drove up to the wedding together and met Morgan at the church.  It was such a blast from the past to be with these two again and I loved every second of it.  It's crazy how you never think you will grow apart from these people you are so close with but then life & marriage & babies & work takes you all a different direction...  It takes some serious effort to keep in touch with people you used to see everyday.  I am grateful to have them in my life!

At the wedding we enjoyed catching up, and even vandalizing Aaron & Rachel's truck.  It was a fabulous wedding - Congrats Aaron & Rachel!
